Vittorio's Amityville

Genre: Italian Prime Steakhouse
Price: High
Service: Amazing

Vittorio's is located in Amityville.  It an adorable Italian restaurant/ wine bar.  The service is impeccable.  They start off with some delicious Italian bread.  Their menu has vast amount app, pastas, and entrées.  Beside the vast menu, if you can't find something you like (which is not likely), they have a list of delicious specials.  Even though the pricing is a bit on the higher end it is definitely worth it.

Bar:  The bar is separate from the restaurant itself.  It is a fully stocked bar and plus it has a ton of wines.  The wine menu ranges from wines all around the the world.  If you love wine this is a place to go.

Apps: Even though the portions of the apps are small, they are succulent and delicious.  I started my meal off with a calamari abbiratia.  Usually I am very picky about the sauce that comes with my fish but when I tried this I was in heaven.  The calamari were cooked perfectly.  They weren't to chewy and to crispy.  My plate was wiped clean because how delicious it was.

Pasta:  Even though the list of pastas are small they are very different and not typical Italian restaurant pastas. I am the type of person who enjoys pasta and a meat/fish.  Which is perfect because Vittorio's do an 1/2 order of pasta.  I decided to order the Pappadella.  It is a thick Italian homemade pasta that was served in a cream mushroom sauce, with mushrooms and truffle oil.  I felt as though I was an episode of Iron Chef. My boyfriend at first didn't think he was going to like it but when he tried it I could not keep him off my plate.

Entrées:  Vittorio's is known as an Italian restaurant but the well kept secret is it is also a Prime Steakhouse. There steaks are cooked to perfection and taste like a steak from Peter Lugars (but cheaper and with sides).  I ordered the two pound lobster stuffed oreganata style served over homemade fingerling potato strings and spinach.  The juices of the lobster dipped down onto the fries making them amazing.  One of the best lobsters I have ever eaten. They also offer different chicken, veal and fish entrees as well.  Again, very different from typical Italian restaurants.

Dessert:   The inside cannoli was not that good but they also make a giant homemade peanut butter cup.  Even if you don't like peanut butter cups you will love this because of the ooeey gooeey chocolate ganche.

Summary;  Highly recommended.  I suggest even if you need to skip going to dinner for 2 times to come here to eat the way I ate its a must do, it was absolutely amazing. This coming from and Italian who hates to eat Italian food out
